Prostaglandin

A fatty acid kind of hormone made in the uterus that causes menstrual cramps also known as dysmenorrhea, pain and often headaches or diarrhea. These hormones are blocked by anti-prostaglandin medications such as ibuprofen. OR hormones made in many tissues that cause pain, increased or decreased blood flow and menstrual cramps.
