  • Mirena®

    Mirena® = Levonorgestrel-releasing IUD. This intra-uterine device has a sleeve of a male-type progestin called Levonorgestrel on it. This releases the hormone in high levels to the endometrium and very low levels to the whole body. it causes thinning of the endometrium that prevents egg implantation, decreases or eliminates menstruation and therefore is a good treatment for heavy flow.

  • Milk of magnesia

    An over-the-counter medicine containing magnesium that helps with constipation and causes diarrhea.
