Mavis Dixon graduated from the University of Waterloo with an honors degree in Psychology and a specialization in non-profit administration. She has worked in a management role and as a communications and fund development specialist in non-profit organizations for 13 years. She is currently a business engagement manager at RavenSpace publishing, an open access startup within UBC Press that provides the platform, services and access to peer-review, in a transformative publishing model. Her role there is to support their vision to be financially sustainable through partnerships and alliances, major donor support, and grant funding.
